Rehacer Volumen Siete

The rehacer is a little late this month, but in a way I’m glad otherwise it may have missed out on the killer Streetlight Symphony rework of Haim’s forever. If you feel like dancing then please read on.

Olympic Ayres – Magic (Luke Million Remix)

Olympic Ayres are a band that you can really picture doing big things, every track they release has huge possibilities. Their latest track Magic features some big production and as usual, enticing lyrics. The Luke Million remix takes that all and twists it into something that only the Swiss’ disco lord can do. Not exactly genius like some of Million’s other work but definitely worth seeking it out and adding it onto your playlists for the rest of the year.

Haim – Forever (Streetlight Symphony Remix)

This bass driven track dropped very recently, but seems to be quickly gaining support on soundcloud. It takes the 80s vibe of Haim ridiculously good track and turns it into a banger centred around a nu-disco synth riff. Free download from soundcloud, i’d be getting around it.

The Naked and Famous – No Way (Co-Pilots Remix)

The Naked and Famous have brought out a new single and have announced their highly anticipated sophomore album. The new track is good, but doesn’t have the energy or attitude that really takes it to the next level, some might even say lacklustre. But I thought I’d drag this one out in all it’s relaxed glory, solid listening from start to finish with just the right amount of guitars. Co-Pilots is actually Russell Lissack aka Bloc Party guitarist and founding member alongside Kele Okereke.

MGMT – Congratulations (Erol Alkan Rework)

MGMT’s second album Congratulations didn’t really catch my attention but my brother swore it was one of the best albums of 2010. It was only when I heard this remix of the title track that I really saw the brilliance to it and gave the album a fighting chance, such a good decision looking back, even if hordes of ‘Kids’ fans disagree with me. The guitar and synth riffs in this one hang around in my head for days.

Scenic – Another Sky (The Magician Remix)

There was a time when The Magician ruled my world, everything he released had this clean addictive elegance to it. It still does, but new tracks are a lot more sparse compared to the past. Still anything he touches has that awesome building of clean repetitive synths that I mentioned, this one has a free DL.
